Book Review for: Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur

By SAMAMA, Nov 29 2018 04:24PM

Oh my god… What did I just read?

Milk & Honey is filled with a lot of emotions and also, a lot of... grammar mistakes, zero punctuations and bad phases.

Also it had a very anomalous way of writing. If you purely just want to read a poetry book with good

grammar and correct writing methods, this isn’t the book for you. BUT if bad grammars and zero punctuations does not bother you too much, you could try reading this book.

Milk and Honey pointed and expressed out the sadness of physical and mental abuse and also the loss and trauma of someone leaving you, and there were actually a bunch of good collection of poems in this book which I had genuinely liked, especially in the chapter ‘The Healing’. But a lot of the works were honestly, tediously lame.

I would call it an ‘okay’ book. But what I don’t understand is how this book got SO ridiculously hyped, and how it went to such good ranks. It’s honestly not the best book I ever read, definitely not.

And I also can’t figure out why this book is as expensive as a good hardcover novel, it’s not really worth the money. (Unless you get it in a good offer or book-sale).

I know a lot of you will not agree with my review on this book, but giving it a 5 stars or saying that it’s a really good poetry book will go against my ethics. Therefore my truth shall always stand high.

I would give this book a 2 stars.

I would definitely love to hear what makes you think differently about this book and also whether you agree with me or not.
